What we store

So that Miri can help you plan, we store certain data — but only what’s really needed for that:

• Your names and email addresses
• Wedding date, budget range and style preferences
• Guest list with replies, meal preferences, allergies
• Budget categories and expenses
• Uploaded documents (contracts, offers)
• Chat history with Miri
• Moodboard images and notes

And what we explicitly do NOT store: payment data (processed directly by Stripe), tracking cookies, advertising profiles.

Where your data lives

All data is hosted in Germany — in data centres in Frankfurt am Main. It never leaves the EU.

• Hosting: Own server with [hosting provider] in Germany
• Encryption (transfer): TLS 1.3 — state of the art
• Encryption (storage): AES-256 at database level
• Backups: encrypted, also in Germany

Who has access

Only Sovion’s development team has access to your data — and only as far as necessary for operating the service.

No access by advertising partners, data brokers or vendor networks. For specific features, Miri uses Anthropic’s Claude API: wedding context (date, style, budget) is sent for processing — but not used for AI training and not stored by Anthropic (zero-data-retention, where available).

Your rights

You retain full control over your data:

• Access: view at any time what data is stored
• Export: download all data as JSON or CSV
• Deletion: remove account and all data with one click
• Withdrawal: revoke consents at any time
• Complaint: right to complain to the competent supervisory authority

When you delete your account, all data is permanently and irreversibly removed from our servers within 30 days (soft-delete → hard-delete). Before that, you can export everything.

What we do NOT do

• Sell data to advertisers
• Use your data for AI training
• Set tracking cookies without consent
• Pass your emails on to third parties
• Build profiles for advertising
• Load trackers without your consent

Web analytics with your consent

For web analytics we use Google Analytics 4 — with IP anonymisation and only after your explicit consent via our cookie banner. If you decline, no analytics script is loaded and no cookies are set. You can change your decision at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. Details are in our privacy notice (German).

Miri & privacy — transparently explained

Miri uses Anthropic’s Claude API behind the scenes. So we’re transparent:

• What is sent? Wedding context (date, style, budget, guest count) for personalised recommendations.
• What is NOT sent? Guest contact data, payment information, passwords, uploaded documents (unless you actively use document analysis).
• Does Anthropic store your data? No — Anthropic doesn’t store the contents of API requests (zero-data-retention policy).
• Is your data used for AI training? No, never.
